When Jesus was before His accusers and Pontius Pilate was deciding His fate, this Roman Governor asked, What is Truth? (John 18:38) The question is as profound as the answer that Jesus gave. Pilot was in search of greatness and likely learned that being powerful was not all that there was. His expectations came up short.Having to preside over the greatest of all verdicts, Pilot was simply an actor in the greatest story ever written. Did pilot know something that others did not? Was he aware of how monumental his verdict would be in all of history?
The Truth is often sought but only those that seek can find it. It begins with a quest through the good book, The Bible. No matter the quest or where you come from, the pursuit for that which is real, and ever so illusive, is the journey many, and perhaps all, begin. Few find the road less traveled. Unlike the classic Beatles song, “The Long and Winding Road” where most travel but only few find the end and are satisfied. It the Bible, Jesus says that He is the Truth.
Jesus is worth the pursuit! What answers do you seek? When you seek Truth, where do you begin?
