Look Up and Be Amazed!

You see a lot when you’re traveling across the country. Beautiful scenery, as well as those inevitable construction sites. But, occasionally you come across something that just completely blows you away. Some things are just amazing no matter how often you see it.

Case in point. I frequently see Ariel Acrobats flying low to the ground to spray the pesticides and other control agents on farmers fields. I’m always amazed at how low those planes can go, and how near to power grids they will fly. Dive bombing and aerial stunts are always an amazing attraction to me.
I have taken my grandkids to the air shows to see these amazing aircrafts.

More recently, I saw a helicopter lift off. It was a life flight for medical services. Likely they were taking a patient in an emergency situation to a nearby hospital. I often lift up a prayer whenever I see one overhead.

It’s an amazing achievement to be able to lift thousands of pounds off the ground with hundreds of thousands of moving parts. Unlike an airplane, just one small part fails and your life expectancy drops dramatically.

Interestingly, below is a video that I think you will enjoy watching of this take off.

More curious is even the courage it takes to fly a hot air balloon across the skies. Guided by only the drifting winds and the amount of hot air in the balloon, they glide graciously in the sky. They seem to just gently hang in the sky, majestically and beautifully.

Across my travels, I see rare opportunities to simply wonder about the engineering marvel that defies gravity and appears simply in the sky. There’s an incredible engineering mind behind every craft that hovers or floats or jets through the air. It is ann intelligent mind that designed each of these flying crafts.

Of course, my mind turns to the scripture that reminds me that there is an incredible God that designed us, and that we are not living up to our full potential. Apart from Christ, we are dead in our sins, but in Christ, we have the power to overcome discover God‘s plan for our lives.

So, I say look to the skies. Keep your head up and discover what God has in store for you as you journey this life with Him, for His glory and for the good of others!
